Talk about learning from the best!

Hi Denise. First of all let me say the US dialect classes have been amazing. Our fifth and final week consists of delivering a monologue and I can't wait. I was amazed at how quickly, with a little help and guidance, you can transform your accent. I know this class may not be the favorite of everyone but I certainly found the challenge right up my alley. I have had some deep discussions with Katherine about specific US accents relative to certain cultural regions of the US, but more importantly refining the standard American accent has been invaluable. I know I will use my training in this area in the future. I practice my US dialect in my own time, and often catch myself reading in standard American. Also I saw Kristian Shmid's performance on PTTR. I had no idea what to expect my current teacher to pull out on the …

A Very Happy Student

Hello again Denise, yet more correspondence from a very happy student. The past two weeks have been the most progressive two weeks of my life in terms of maturing as a young actor. I was blown away by the first term and wondered how much better things could get. I was having so much fun with my teachers and classmates that I wasn't aware it could get better. Well... it did. Only three weeks into my second term I was put up for an audition for Packed to the Rafters. During that week I also attended the first round of the Dungog film Festival's speed auditioning and all this after yet another full Wednesday class of excitement during the week. It was a massive week and I turned up this morning to my fourth week into term two, only to find out that I had successfully auditioned for the role on …

A Great Term At Screenwise

I have had a great term at Screenwise. Denise has chosen such wonderful, highly skilled and talented teachers to deliver her program. I can’t speak highly enough to the people in my network about the quality of training I have received in such a short time. I’m considering another year after I finish. Since starting at Screenwise I have done a few short films and a few TV commercial auditions, I attribute my success in the short films and my successful auditions (although I didn’t get the job, but I loved the experience) to my training. My approach has changed immensely since starting the Screenwise program and I can’t wait to see what happens next term. Please pass on my comments to Denise,

In Anticipation

I have just completed my first term of the One Year Showreel course, which runs on the full Wednesday class, and I have to say I have had an absolute blast so far, and look forward to the rest of the year with great anticipation. All our teachers so far have offered something unique in their approach to improve us as actors and as people. Their advice and direction has helped the class and I to achieve great things both on and off camera. I would like to say that as a budding young actor I have learned more than I could have imagined possible in this first term of only ten weeks and I can't wait to improve my craft further. A special thank you to you for designing a great course and I look forward to seeing you next term. My fees are paid and I can't wait. Thanks …

Thank You!!!

Hi Denise, Im a current student in the 2010 Showreel course, and I just wanted to send a message to say a a big thank you. Thank you for the opportunity to take part in the showreel course, the first classes with Patrick & Stephen were fantastic! I'm now with Alex & Vincent and noticing that all of the tutors have such enthusiasm and passion for what they are doing and it is very encouraging. It's also great to have fantastic opportunities such as the Erica Silverman and Dave Newman workshops which I recently attended. I can't wait for the rest of the year! I'm auditioning for a pilot this week, so i'll let you know how it goes. Best Wishes, Lauren Whitton

Erica L Silverman LA Audition Workshop

Thank you so much for putting on Erica's workshop. She certainly was a delight and I for one was thrilled with her assessment. She thought I had a bit of a Helen Mirren quality - Wow now that IS an endorsement.

A Big Thank You

I just wanted to send you a quick email and tell you what a blast it was filming our scenes last week. A big thank you to Denise and the Screenwise team for the opportunities that they offer to their students - all the amazing teachers that we've had throughout the year and for organising Grant Bowler to shoot our scenes. He's a great actor, sure, but he's also an amazing teacher and director. He has so much enthusiasm for what he does and is so encouraging and supporting to everyone. I was at the shoot last Fri but I'm going to go to the shoot on the 23rd of September as well to watch and learn from the rest of my class, and to lend a helping hand to the crew if it's needed. I look forward to the rest of the classes and shooting the monologues with Denise! I …
