Scholarship applications are now open for teenagers aged between 12 -16 years who have the passion but the not the funds to learn acting for film skills at Screenwise.

Screenwise has announced as of Monday 21 July 2008 applications will be open for children aged 12-16 years for a scholarship placement within the popular Screenteens workshop in October.

The recipient of the scholarship will receive specialist, career-focused training in acting for film & television and will work intimately with the crème of industry professionals - award-winning actors, directors & casting consultants who are articulate and inspirational teachers.

Denise Roberts, Principal and CEO of Screenwise says ‘We are very excited to provide this opportunity to a young adult who dreams of being an actor and may not be in a financial position to afford a comprehensive screen acting course like the one Screenwise offers. Screenteens is the stepping stone that a young adult needs to get started in the acting industry.'

SCREENTEENS student photos are kept on file and presented to Casting Consultants for consideration whenever there is a Film or TV series being cast, many SCREENTEENS have auditioned and appeared in some of Australia's leading film and TV series such as Home and Away, All Saints, The December Boys, H2O and Blue Water High.

Thanks to referrals from Screenwise, many of the students are now represented by some of Sydney's top Acting Agencies.

Courses run during school terms, on Sat mornings from 9.30am – 11.30am and during the last term of the year, Screenteen students write and produce their own project which is then given to them on a DVD.
